Logitech G513 Review

Logitech G513 Review

The first thing I noticed when I started gaming with the Logitech G513 is how comfortable it is, from the Romer-G Linear Switches to the included memory foam palmrest I was able to game for hours with absolute comfort. The travel distance of the keys and reaction from the switches felt smooth and accurate with any game I played, be it an MMO, or a First Person Shooter. I was then amazed with how quiet the keyboard is. Having tried many different switch types over the years, right away I noticed how much quieter this keyboard is compared to my other switch styles.

I do however with the USB Passthrough was USB 3.0 and not USB 2.0. While Logitech does mention the port is designed more for charging and using their wireless mice (I currently use the port for my G903 wireless adapter), it would have been nice to see how a USB 3.0 could have worked for a better transition into it being a USB Hub potentially with a lot faster data transfer speeds for creatives like myself to plug in, say, and SD Card reader and get access to all of those transfer speeds and swapping the SD Cards in and out right at your keyboard.

One thing I didn't mention in the review is the lack of a NUM LOCK light. As someone who uses the NUMPAD for gaming (World of Warcraft specifically with Logitech's G600 mouse) I need to know when the NUMLOCK is on so I know I will be using my abilities in tight situations!

What are your thoughts on this keyboard? It drops March 30th, 2018 are you going to order one?

Elgato HD60s Review

What a piece of heaven this device is. The Elgato Gaming HD60s is a capture card for recording and streaming your video games from your Desktop Computer or Laptop. The HD60s is portable, and can capture up to 1080P at 60 FPS with a 40 Megabit Stream (for those curious my YouTube videos are 4K at 30 FPS and also 40 Megabits, so the quality here is very good for a device so small). The device has an HDMI in and out, as well as an Audio port and connects with a USB Type C connection (you cannot get the full 40 MB stream with USB 2.0 so 3.0 is recommended).

One thing that was a slight downfall with the HD60 Pro offered by Elgato is that it is an internal PCI-Express card, which limits it to desktop PC's. The HD60s can be used with any desktop, any laptop, Mac or Windows.

In addition, you also are able to use all of the features of the GameCaptureHD software. The key features of this include Flashback Recording, so if you hit the big quad kill, you can do back up to 10 minutes and capture the entire moment!

The thing that draws people to this the most is the lag-free playthrough, which allows you to play the game without and latency from the device, as many older game capture options had.

Increase Your Social Media Traffic Using Instagram Stories

Increase Your Social Media Traffic Using Instagram Stories

As Instagram rolls out newer features, I am finding amazing ways to use them to my advantage. One feature, although not one of the newest, is the ability to create stories with links. While yes this feature is only for users with 10,000 followers or more (currently), anybody can use stories and their newer feature within stories, Highlights, to their advantage to drive traffic to not only their business or website, but any content they would create.

Snapchat has been under a lot of fire lately with their recent updates and a lot of users are switching to Instagram for their photo sharing needs. While it seems like one is always trying to become the other, Instagram stories remain an amazing way to create traffic to your work.

As you see in the video, I hop into Photoshop to create this image:

I was able to use a Chrome Extension to capture the entire blog post and save it as an image to be edited further into what you see above.  I like to keep these posts in a vertical portrait mode and in a 9:16 format, as most phones (iPhones more specifically) are in a 9:16 screen format.

Using this method, I was able to convert ~10% of my story viewers to my blog post, which contains links to my YouTube Channel, and other social media outlets, which can lead to numerous other benefits for your platforms.

For those who cannot post links in their stories, you can use your Photoshopping Skills to create the image to redirect to another place, be it the link in your bio, or alike. You can then make Highlights of these stories so they are always on your profile and as your audience grows, by nature, so will clicks on the highlight.

I hope this was insightful for everyone and I can start seeing you all utilize every social media platform to enhance your experience online. Feel free to check out the video linked above, I made a pretty slick cinematic for your viewing pleasures and I would appreciate any eyes on it I can grab.

GFUEL Sour Cherry Release

GFUEL Energy Sour Cherry NEW Flavor

Today marks the release of the NEW GFUEL Energy flavor, Sour Cherry! In the video above, you can see my first reaction taste test to the flavor. I found it quite amazing! It is a lot more in your face than most GFUEL flavors, without being too much. People who are fans of sour flavors will find this perfect for your taste buds. It doesn't make you pucker up like a Warheads might, but you can absolutely tell there is a sour tone to it. I after recording the video added an extra half of a scoop to my shaker (I had too much water) and really fell in love with the flavor even more! Now I am going to say, I know how Cherry flavors can become a little 'cough syrup-y' but know this, GFUEL's Sour Cherry Flavor does not come close in any regard to tasting like a nasty cough syrup. I allowed my parents to try the flavor as well, my mother said hands down this is her new favorite flavor and took a shaker full to work with her today, and my father (who to me claims every fruity flavor tastes like cough syrup) never once brought that up and enjoyed it as well (he doesn't typically like fruity flavors).

Feel free to try this flavor at 10% off with codes DIDS (mine) or GAMERGIRL (my Fiancees) at THIS LINKFeel free to let me know how you like the flavor in the comments here, on the YouTube video shown above, or on my Twitter

Here are some photos I took for the release:

What's in my Camera Bag?! 2018

I get asked a lot about what equipment I use on my professional shoots. I took the time today to showcase everything I keep in my MAIN camera bag (I explain my backup bags in the video above). In this blog I will be going through everything from the video, with a short explanation as to why I keep it in my bag as well as an amazon link if you want to get said item for yourself!

Selens 168 LED Dimmable Ultra High Power Light: [http://amzn.to/2Eqwwrb]

This light is the most versatile way to shine light on any subject, be it a model, a product, or if you even need a little background fill light.  The color temperature is a little green, but it isn't anything that cant be fixed in post.

Neewer NW-670 TTL Flash Speedlite: [http://amzn.to/2BLXtFa]

My flash of choice, this flash works with both my Canon and Sony camera bodies and even works with wireless receivers that I own for it as well. While there are more powerful flashes on the market, this flash provides everything I need in a cheap, reliable package.

Memory Card Carrying Case: [http://amzn.to/2BLoWGW]

Every professional needs to keep multiple SD Cards and this carrying case works, it is not the one shown in the video, but I also own this one and it is available for Amazon Prime users, so this one will also work.

67MM Altura Photo Professional Photography Filter Kit (UV, CPL Polarizer, Neutral Density ND4) : [http://amzn.to/2C3k7ob]

Filters can provide so many benefits to your photos and videos when used properly, this is a great kit for 67mm thread lens.

Sony VGC2EM Vertical Grip: [http://amzn.to/2EnfSsL]

This battery grip allows the A7Rii the ability to use two batteries and create a much more comfortable grip when shooting portrait style photos.

NP FW50 RAVPower Camera Battery Charger Set: [http://amzn.to/2C2zH3f]

This charger works for the A7Rii series of batteries and allows for charging two batteries at the same time through a micro USB cable which can be charged from any form of USB charging (even portable)!

Sigma MC-11 Mount Converter Lens Adapter (Sigma Canon EF-Mount Lenses to Sony E Cameras): [http://amzn.to/2GWeNqg]

For anyone who wants to convert their Canon lens to the Sony architecture, this device works near flawlessly and provides a seamless transition from one camera body to the next.

Sigma 35mm F1.4 ART DG HSM Lens: [http://amzn.to/2C2B9md]

Easily the lens I use the most. The f/1.4 create a stunning depth of field and I feel 35mm is one of the most used/easy to use focal lengths. The colors that this lens produces are amazing.

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM: [http://amzn.to/2C2OyL2]

One of the greatest zoom lens out there, 24-70 provides the most versatile focal length for any situation you might find yourself in. Being at an f/2.8 allows for some great bokeh for any shot you take as well.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM: [http://amzn.to/2C2tQuQ]

The most commonly used Telephoto Focal Length Zoom Lens, as I mentioned in a previous review, you absolutely do not need to buy the more expensive f/2.8 model with the Image Stabilization. This version of the lens will do everything you need it to!

Movo VXR10 Universal Video Microphone with Shock Mount: [http://amzn.to/2FXNqe1]

For those who need a cheap vlogging microphone on the go, this mic does the job. It also somes with a 'dead cat' (wind filter) that reduces the harsh cut of wind noise very well.

Sony a7R II Full-Frame Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera: [http://amzn.to/2C4geyZ]

Full review to come, but this camera body does it all. 42 megapixel photos, 4k/30 video, in body stabilization, this camera can do it all. By far my favorite!

Sony SEL16F28 16mm f/2.8 Wide-Angle Lens: [http://amzn.to/2C3KKJo]

My go to vlogging lens, the ability to use this lens for great focus tracking during my vlogs without any noise from the lens focusing system helps my videos look and feel so much more professional. This is even ironically one of the cheapest lens I own too!

So there you have it. My latest and greatest equipment all in one convenient place for you to see. I hope this provided you with some positive insight to how I go about my workflow and cannot wait to hear your feedback in the comments!

Have an amazing day and until next time, I will see you on the internet!
